What can we expect from a typical counseling session?

How long is a typical session?

Sessions with adults typically last 60 or 90 minutes, and sessions with children typically last 45 to 60 minutes, but we can adjust the length of the sessions to meet your needs.

How many times would we meet?

The number of counseling sessions can vary greatly, depending on the problems being addressed. To expedite the process, it is critical that those coming for counseling are setting concrete goals with their counselor and working to stay focused on those goals both during and between sessions.

What is “biblical counseling”?

What types of counseling issues does Cross Care address?

What are the qualifications of Cross Care counselors?

Cross Care counselors have formal training in both the Bible and counseling. They have counseling experience with many different types of issues and in different settings. Our counselors have been recognized by others for their gifting in counseling. They also love the local church and see their role as an extension of the care of the local church.

How does the process start? 

To begin the process, please contact one of our counselors via e-mail or phone. For contact information, go to our Contact Us page or our Counselors page. Then one of our counselors will reply to set up a time and location to meet and to send you an information form for you to read, fill out, and send back to us or bring to your first session. This information form tells you more about Cross Care but also allows you to give us some initial information about you and what you would like to work on.
